Panathinaikos is re-signing guard Nemanja Nedovic. The Serbian player teased his stay with Panathinaikos on social media and Eurohoops confirmed that he will remain an OAKA resident by penning a two-year deal with the Greens.
Nedovic was the leading scorer of Panathinaikos in the 2020-21 EuroLeague with 16.0 points, while also having 3.7 assists in 25 games. He averaged 14.8 points and 2.9 assists in the Greek League as Panathinaikos won the championship, along with the Cup title.
Over the season, Nedovic has been openly expressing his desire to continue with Panathinaikos and get to play in a full arena, something that couldn’t happen in the previous season due to COVID-19 restrictions. With the two sides now continuing together, he may get that opportunity next season.\
UPDATE: Panathinaikos officially announced Nedovic’s contract extension.
“I am very happy to continue in Athens and at Panathinaikos,” Nedovic said. “It was very important for me to find somewhere a continuation and I found it at Panathinaikos. I would like to thank all the management and the coach for their believe in me. I promise I will pay it back on the court. I can’t wait to see our fans”
